Issues...Issues...wargh! (July 25th, 2005)
Sometimes, when there is some big news happening around us, i'll write about it here...let's see some of the highlights...The London Bombing....Ayah Pin & Sky Kingdom...Proton & AP...Mahathir vs Rafidah...Vieira leaves Gunners...lalalalala...a lot of my past article i commented was about Islamic issues..i don't talk about politics (especially in Malaysia) as usually i don't know what to talk about, unlike pakya...he knows very lot about Malaysian politics and talk about it..whether it's a compliment, critic, fact or fiction, i usually keep my mouth shut and just listen to him...of course, there's a lot of my friend who can openly talk about this, whether from KUiTTHO or STARian friends, local or overseas...i can't generate my own opinion or ideas on these issues, because i myself are perplexed about it..i might give false comments, which may or may not
pleased anyone...and so...'war of the words' keep flaming non-stop for quite some time...that's because everyone can freely express their own opinion, and it doesn't matter whether it is true or not...it is something we can discuss about...but then again, i rather watch and listen to others doing the flaming job...i can see that amongst us, we can be divided to 3 groups...support 'one' side, support the 'other' side, or stay neutral (i know you know what i mean)...i tried to be on the neutral side for most of the time, although there are sometime, i hop in the 'other' side quite a lot more than 'one' side...especially when it comes to something about religion...i took this matter more seriously than others, as it is the most sensitive issues...Example, Ayah Pin...he openedly declared himself an apostate in 1998 (i think), and yet he freely gives his deceiveing ideology to people, gather some followers, and building the RM5 million Sky Kingdom undetected (or uninformed) for the past 10 years...WTF? This man is a criminal, a sinner, who is dangerous to not only to Muslims, but to any Malaysians as well...but the only action i've read is that he once been jailed for 2 years (can't remember) for 'disrupting' the society...now, he roams again...more and more people fell by his 'magic' (witchcraft, i'd say)...and he himself somehow able to elude from apprehension while others being interrogated...maybe he ask his genie to make him invisible or moving in lightspeed...yea right...just go to hell you idiot...>:(...
alright alright, let me try to give my 2-cents worth on local politics...i do not fully understand this AP-Proton thing...but i think, on certain degree, what Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz was true about Proton's failure to be competetive with other imported cars...Rumours & gossips spread through my ear that national car's standard is not up to par with any other imported car, especially in the safety aspects...why compromise? of course, cars like Gen2, Perdana, Waja, Savvy etc. may have been implemented a lot of cutting-edge technologies (such as the so-called CamPro..or should I say, 'CamPro-upgradable when available :P)...but i think they've cut 'too much edge'. Even more annoying, these car sold here is even more expensive than those at overseas! Talk about 'affordable but nasty' (like in one of TV-series 'Top Gear' commenting on Savvy...the other is 'catchy but expensive')...How about making a real (i mean, reealllyy real),decent quality car, for local and global market...or 'glocal'..a new word waiting to be approved by DBP or Cambridge for that matter...currently, i can't find the word in the English dictionary..but to my surprise, the word 'Infotainment', the one where RTM decides to keep it for its motto (and creates some fuss on some people), does exist..maybe the real issue was whether the word can be used in Malay language - minus the letter t - just like RTM did...but that's just another story...(one side note:ever heard the word 'docutainment'? it has the same meaning as infotainment...translate it loosely to Malay, and it becomes 'dokutainmen'..sounds like a wierdo :P)...wargh, i'm off topic! can't turn back..mayday mayday...($#W&*N$WHVKS@#(&!@+!V
Finally, remember that whatever i write in here about local politics, i could be wrong...it's just an opinion...i'll try to avoid flame wars...so that's why i prefer not to talk about it...
PS - one global religious issues that, IMHO, always been overlooked and snubbed by the eyes of most of us is (sadly) the Palestine-Isreal issues...unresolved for couple of decades, and it seemed that it'll never be settled in near future (until Armageddon maybe?)...curse those damn zionists..
